King Sigismund Augustus of Poland, later to become Emperor, commissioned these impresive tapestries from Michiel Coxcie of Mechelen in the mid-16th century. They were roved back and forth to several countries, mainly due to wars. But now form part of the State collection housed in the Wawelburcht Castle in Cracow.
