Sequenze Tapestry Marco Petrus

The idea starts from the desire to preserve the entire composition image exibits at the Italian Pavilion, at the 54th International Art Exhibition of la Biennale di venezia in the Arsenale. The fifty italian architectural details, oil on canvas 30x20 cm, which summarize the Petrus’s work in recent years, find now a new existence on the textile support.

The  tapestry, measuring 190 x 143 cm, is made in limited edition of 50 pieces from the famous Belgian Flanders Tapestries.

Marco Petrus was born in Rimini in 1960. His artistic debut in Milan in 1991. At the end of nineties is a “Officina Milanese” protagonist and partecipate at the exibition “Sui Generis” in 2000 at PAC in Milan, curated by Alessandro Riva, follow several projects: solo exhibition at “Palazzo delle Stelline” (Milan) in 2003, on “A Italian Factory”, “La nuova scena artistica italiana” Venice and Strasburg. In 2005, by the Columbus Day in New York, he presents the “Milano upsidedown” project. In 2007 he joins the “Italian Collective” at the Shanghai Art Museum and at the exibition “The New Italian Art Scene” at the Taipei F.A. Museum and a solo exibition in Como: “Architectonica” curated by Elena Pontiggia. In 2008 the exibition  “Petrus’ Milano” curated by Fulvio Irace in Moscow and “Trieste al centro” curated by Luca Beatrice in Trieste in 2009. Invited by Alessandro Mendini to expose on “Quali cose siamo” at the Design Museum Milan Triennale in 2010. Mendini presents, in 2011, the last works titled “Synchronicity” at “Frigoriferi Milanesi” in Milan. He has exhibited inside the Italian Pavilion at the 54th international Art Exhibition of la Biennale di Venezia in the Arsenale, in the exhibition L’arte non è cosa nostra curated by Vittorio Sgarbi.
